Hope this will help you to calculate your monthly savings and expected salary

If you want a 2 BHK apartment in a decent place to live then you have to be ready to spend around 200 to 300.

KWD (Per Month) For 2 Persons

  • 275 House Rent
  • 75 Groceries+ Misc exps.
  • 100 Car Hire / OR Loan installment + Petrol
  • 5 Land Line Rent
  • 5 Mobile Rent OR Prepaid Card
  • 10 Electricity
  • 10 Internet at home
  • 5 Television Channel Connection

This will sum up to KWD 500 approximately.

well i think this is too much you have written the cost of living in kuwait,for 2 person 2 bedroom apartment in salmiya,hawally,farwaniya,khaitan ,jleeb al shouk,or abbasiya and riggae u have 18o to 225 rates now approximately and the grocery for 2 wont exceed more then 60 to 70 kwd.well as of if you are livivng as a bachelor it will be half of the price am telling you,
now the reason y,many new building construction is going on in kuwait,because of this kuwait apartment rates have been fall up to 30% and also the grocery has also fall up to 22% rest i agree with you.

I am considering moving to Kuwait August month, please advices bout cost of living we are family of couples and 3 kids.

How much will cost rent for a 4 bedrooms or villa type?
Electricity, telephone, internet…etc?
French school admissions and costs for elementary and secondary?
Decent good life?

Food and other entertainments is person’s responsibility.

Welcome to Kuwait

villas are comparatively costly here.. ranging from 700 to 1000 KD. It will be with more than 4 bedrooms.

Apartments with 3-4 bedrooms might cost you from 300-400 KD. Phone will be an annual charge ranging from 60 KD with local calls free and basic internet will range from 120 KD and can go upto 350 KD annually depending the bandwidth needs

1 bed room sharing

1 bed room sharing accommodation will cost you around 100 KD or less including electricity. If independent flat it will cost you more like 150-175... electricity to be paid

count 80KD for food if not cooking otherwise 50KD

internet will cost you a 13 KD a month or less depending on the type

Mobile phone will cost 3-5 kd a month

If you are looking for areas

If you are looking for areas where you find 90% Indians, try either Abbasiya or Salmiya block 10. Other places are having all other nationalities. But this is not going to bother you if you are not going to put your nose into it. If you please to stay only among indians, then Abbasiya or Salmiya is the best.

a living like your self would atleast be comming to around 1000 - 1500 KD per month and for that u should be getting a salary of around KWD 2500/-. this would fetch you a decent life as you mentioned.

3. Medical Cost - If you take the government its minimal (the govt. clinics are good)
4. Food Expenses -- Plan to cook @ home (50 -60 KD)
5. Mobile - minimum 3 KD
6. Electricity - Annual 50-60 KD
7. Other Expences
8. Taxi - count 20 KD for office going

Salary Offered in Kuwait for Risk Professionals

 Hi,

I have been offered  a job in Risk Management in Kuwait based bank. I have got 10 plus years of  commercial banking experience in India and also completed MBA full time from USA in 2008. Presently I am working in a MNC Bank drawing Rs 22Lacs per annum.

Please advise me how much salary should I ask for looking into my experience and qualifications.

if you are ok with living in

if you are ok with living in one bedroom shared with 2-4 people and expects no other expenses such as fee for the services given by company, it could be ok. 


Does the company covers the medical as well? Here the government medical is free.. or rather they will charge you 1 kd per visit and u will get medicines free.

if you think you just want to save 150KD, it is fine to take up

For a bachelor,
1.  Rental cost of 1BHK furnished accomodation
2.  Food costs (if cooking? and if eating outside?)
3.  Transportation costs ( to office and back home)
4.  Electricity and water costs
5.  Entertainment costs (cable tv, internet connection, etc.)
6.  Telephone / mobile usage expenditure.
