Open letter to Lulu on shopping & coconut grating

Lulu Hypermarket claims that they offer shopping experiance. It is true to some extent and many of us prefer to do the shopping at Lulu.

Yesterday I have been to Lulu for buying some things at Lulu Hypermarket in Alrai near Shuwaikh. I am writing this post to explain my experiance in getting the grated coconut at the Lulu HyperMarket

As we are aware, it used to take time at the coconut grating counter and hence I just walked into the counter and gave 3 coconuts for grating. There were around 4 bunches of coconuts infornt of the bunch I have given. This was at around 3:00 PM and the staff told me that I can continue my shopping and then come back to get the grated coconut. I have proceded to do my rest of the shopping and about 3:50 I came back to the counter to get the coconuts so that I could proceed to the billing counter. Unfortunately, the earlier staff was not available there and instead a new staff was there doing the grating. When I told the new person that I have kept 3 coconuts for grating he just looked at me as if I am intruding in the queue. I said I have given the coconuts around 45 minutes back; however, he just ignored and gave the grated coconuts to those people who were standing around the counter.  After giving it to the 3rd person, I started asking him about the coconuts I gave in slightly loud voice to give him an indication that I will get it escalated and he immediately said the next is yours. And finally I got it at around 4:20. That is after about 1 hour 20 minutes of I giving the coconuts.

Hello Lulu Management, I have almost spent (lost) 30 minutes just to get the coconuts grated. You might be knowing that many of your customers shop at your place to get the grated coconuts and keeping them holding there will just irritate us and not encourage us to do more shopping. If you think that keeping us there idle will increase the shopping, it is just stupidity.

Let me suggest you something for enhancing the customer experiance

• Keep tokens for controlling the queue so that people will get the stuff in time and will not be given to people just standing around.
• Keep the grated coconuts ready for pickup so that when we come there you can just give it to us instead of grating the coconuts then. We can have the coconuts grated upto 30-45 minutes earlier. You woould be knowing how much of coconuts are getting sold as grated on a daily basis.

Try to improve the queue management near the coconut grating counter so that we will have a better shopping experiance
