Active Desktop in Windows XP got correpted

I got a white screen today for my Windows XP workstation, which was not unusal. I clicked on the restore my desktop button for sometime without any success. A work around is found by editing the registry

You have to go to this area of the registry

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\SafeMode\Components 

Change the value of DeskHtmlVersion from 110 to 0

This will sove the issue
